la pluie

Bonsoir,
And at last... the rain. O how I missed the European days of gray skies and rain. Ha ha, seriously I do not mind it at all. I went to church this morning with Kelsey and her boyfriend. It is a small Protestant church in Grenoble. It was wonderful and in French! I liked it a lot - everyone was very friendly and inviting.
Afterwards, I walked to the marche to buy an apple and headed over to un cafe. It was so lovely because I sat at the cafe by myself and listening to my French podcast. When I got home, JC and Elise were not home so I decided to take a nap. My room is very cozy and I sleep pretty well here. The others in my program talked about going to a movie tonight and I will most likely go. They want to see Love and Other Drugs, which I have seen, but I will go if the rain lets up a bit. Goal for tomorrow: buy an umbrella! I have my raincoat, but the wind is blowing hard so I feel that if I walk to the cinema I will be soaked by the time I get there.
C'est tout pour maintenant,
Kate

  1. Yes, those melancholy, grey, rainy and short days in Europe. We all miss them some times, but not for long. Looks like you will have some clear, sunny weather later in the week according to the forcasts. I hope you get more chances to explore Grenoble and maybe Lyon too. I ordered your books and hopefully they will arrive soon so I can send them to you with your coat.
Are you sleeping better now? What is the name of your new black (cat) friend?
It is snowing pretty hard right now in Germantown and I expect that it will be difficult to get around the streets tomorrow so I plan to stay home. I have a nice large cup of hot Chai tea so I am set. Crissy is back in Knoxville and was able to get there before the snow luckily.
Take care bean, and we'll talk to you soon! Love, Dad
