Brussels

Well it is official - I have become a major slacker in terms of writing in my blog. I will try to do better, but I have discovered how much homework/projects I have due for school.
I am going to give a short recap of my weekend in Brussels in one word: splendid. I cannot even begin to describe how blessed I am to have families that I can stay with. I absolutely loved seeing and staying with Marianne - I felt like she was connection to my mom and it made me so happy. Of course, she and Geoffrey live in a beautiful home with three incredible dogs and two cats. I am happy that Will was able to come with me because I would have been a little lonely during the day.
We went to Bruges Friday and it was great because there was no rain. Saturday we explored downtown Brussels. We successfully ate too many frites, waffles, and chocolate. I could not have asked for a more rejuvenating and relaxing weekend.
Now, I am back in Grenoble. It has been really cold the past few days - I think the mountains have gotten a lot of snow. I might try to go skiing this weekend; although if I went I would be going alone because Ana and Carrie will both be out of town. I cannot decide if it is a smart idea to go alone. Also, I am dreadfully nervous that I will injure myself.
School is a little stressful - we have been assigned SOO MANY group projects! I cannot understand the fascination with group work at my school. Everything we do is in groups and I do not like it to be honest. Especially because I have a 20 page paper to write with three other people!!! How is the logical/fair/efficient?
Anyways, I will stop complaining, but it is definitely a challenge getting used to the educational system here.
I might try to go hiking this weekend as well - we will have to see how the weather is.
I booked my flight from Atlanta to Jackson - I CANNOT WAIT! yay for a summer at Moose Head. Well, there is nothing else too exciting going on in my life so I will try to write in the next few days.
Simply,
Kate
